Cash Money Records is an American rap label and their distributors are Universal Records. Its name is derived from a fictional gang in the 1991 film New Jack City. It was founded by Bryan "Baby" Williams and Ronald "Slim" Williams. Cash Money's first big artists were Big Tymers (Birdman and Mannie Fresh), BG, Juvenile, and Lil Wayne. The Hot Boys came later and consisted of four rap stars in a group:Lil Wayne, Juvenile, BG, and Turk. Bryan "Baby" Williams is current CEO of the company and his adopted son Dwayne "Lil Wayne" Carter is the president.

Young Money New Entertainment AKA Yung Mula Baby is an American record label founded by Orleans rapper Lil Wayne. The label is an imprint of Cash Money Records, of which Lil Wayne was president, and is distributed by Universal Records. As of October 2, 2007, Lil Wayne has stated in an interview with Vibe magazine that he gave his position in Young Money Entertainment to Cortez Bryant. Here is what he said in an interview with Vibe Magazine: "I just want everybody to know I am no longer the president of nothing. I gave Cortez Bryant the presidency of Young Money Records and I stepped down from any other positions... I am the president of me. I am me! I run nobody, I live in a different world with different laws." Mack Maine currently took over as president of Young Money Ent. in 2009.
